The fruit of the Tamanu tree (considered sacred by many native Polynesian cultures), is actually a nut, which, when it falls from the tree, contains a green, very dry kernel which harbors no oil at all! The nuts are harvested and left to ‘bake’ in the warm Tahitian sun for 1 – 2 months where they turn a velvety chocolate color and become sticky with their healing, emolliant oil. The sun-kissed kernels are then cold pressed to yield their luxurious oil which is then bottled as is, straight from Nature and available to you in its pure, unadulterated state.
